The Contracor Whipcheck Safety Cable is a tough and durable cable for use on blast / air hoses, and will help keep your hose connections secure in case of accidental separation. The Contracor Whipcheck Safety Cable is also great for reducing the danger caused by hose coupling failure, and keeping the blast hose from whipping about in case of a coupling failure.
If your air or blast hoses separate from their connections, it is likely that the cause lies in one of these five areas:
Constructed of corrosion resistant, high strength steel, Whipcheck Safety Cables may be installed on hose-to-hose and hose-to-fixed coupling connections.
Instructions of use
Attach blast hose safety cables at all coupled connections. Before connecting the couplings, pull back the spring-loaded loop, slip it over the blast hoses only (not the remote control lines). Connect the hose coupling and slide the ends of the safety cable back until the cable is straight and the hose is slightly bent.
If your air or blast hoses separate from their connections, it is likely that the cause lies in one of these five areas:
- Coupling screws may lose their holding power due to internal wear on the hose tubing
- Use of improper coupling screws may interfere with the proper fit between couplings and hose
- Hose outer diameter may be too small for the coupling
- The continual strain caused by pulling hoses around job sites can weaken the coupling’s grip on the hose
- Couplings can also have been damaged by vehicles or other equipment.
